Human Rights Week is a week-long series of events that commemorates the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948.
This week is dedicated to celebrating our rights and raising awareness about human rights issues at the local, national, and international levels. Through a range of educational programs and community activities, we invite individuals of all ages to engage in meaningful conversations and learning experiences.
Our initiatives especially support newcomers to Canada in understanding human rights from personal, community, and global perspectives. Activities for youth and adults explore the many dimensions of human rights, encouraging reflection, dialogue, and action.
Human Rights Week is an opportunity to deepen public understanding, inspire participation, and highlight why human rights matter—everywhere and for everyone.
